Documents: Pooh Blanket,
Heart Sticker Found Near

ORLANDO, Florida [NMT/WKMG] -- Orlando television station WKMG reported slain Florida toddler Caylee Anthony's mouth was covered with silver duct tape that had been adorned with a heart-shaped sticker, according to reports released Wednesday.

The reports released by the state attorney's office also show that duct tape was attached to her hair, and the girl's remains were placed in a laundry-hamper bag and then secured in a plastic garbage bag before they were left behind in the woods.

When investigators processed the duct tape at an FBI lab in Quantico, Va., they noticed the residue of a heart-shaped sticker on it. The sticker was later found near where the toddler's remains were discovered.

"It appears the sticker was put on the duct tape intentionally," a detective wrote in a request to search the home where Caylee Anthony lived with her mother and grandparents.

Investigators also found a Winnie the Pooh blanket, a pair of striped shorts and a toddler's size shirt in the bag with Caylee's remains, according to the reports.

A utility worker found the girl's body last December in woods near where she lived with her mother and grandparents. She was reported missing in July, a month after she was last seen. Her third birthday passed while she was missing.

Caylee's mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, has been charged with killing the girl. She has claimed that a baby sitter kidnapped Caylee, WKMG said.

Tillis was on duty as a supervisory corrections officer at the Florida State Prison in Raiford. During his shift, one of the inmates in his custody allegedly feigned injury by lying on the floor of his cell. In response, the defendant filled a bottle from a nearby dispenser that provided water at near-boiling temperatures, then poured the scalding water onto the victim’s chest. Tillis also failed to arrange for medical treatment for the victim, who suffered second degree burns on his chest as a result of this assault.

"It is important that corrections officers realize they may not use their positions of authority to inflict physical harm on inmates as punishment," said Acting Assistant Attorney General Loretta King for the Civil Rights Division. "While the vast majority of law enforcement officers carry out their difficult duties in a lawful and professional manner, the Department of Justice will continue to vigorously prosecute those who cross the line and commit this type of unlawful act."

Tillis faces a maximum punishment of ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled by the court.

Mom Arrested for Child Neglect;
Failed to Call Cops When Dad
Molested Daughter, 12

MANATEE COUNTY, Florida [NMT] -- Manatee County Sheriff's Detective Todd Sellitto has arrested Gale M. Beckwith, 37, of the 5100 block of 17th Street Court East, Bradenton.

Gale M. Beckwith

According to the arrest report, on or about the first week of November 2008, Beckwith's 12-year-old daughter awoke Beckwith at approximately 5 a.m. visibly upset and concerned. She told her mother that her stepdad, Christopher Dixon, who is Beckwith's husband had just touched her inappropriately in the genital area while she was asleep.

At that time, Dixon was confronted by Beckwith and her daughter about the allegation, which he denied. But he left the house voluntarily.

Beckwith told Det. Sellitto that she didn't believe her daughter and was torn between believing her daughter or her husband.

The husband returned later that evening and the daughter ran away, due to being afraid of the stepdad.

The girl was taken in by her uncle, where she has remained ever since, and the girl called law enforcement, despite being warned against it by Beckwith, who has had previous encounters with law enforcement and child protective services. Beckwith said there would be negative consequences and her dad would go to jail and the family would be separated.

Det. Sellitto said Beckwith, instead of making a potential perpetrator, who had allegedly exploited her child, leave the home, had moved her daughter to the uncle's home and failed to provide the child any medical attention and denied the child any law enforcement or psychological services.

The child told Det. Sellitto her mother and father openly smokes marijuana in front of her.

Beckwith was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, and charged with Child Neglect.
