The arrest reports said deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress at the residence listed above.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Latisha Turner, 20, hiding in the bushes in front of a residence to the west of the victim's residence.
The other three men, Terrell Sailes, 19; Kenton Purvis, 18; and Deonte Everett, 21, fled from the back of the residence as deputies approached.
Sailes and Purvis were apprehended right away; Sailes was taken down by Deputy Franklin and his K-9 "Ranger."
Everett was contained in a one block area by responding deputies. This area was monitored by the aviation unit until Deputy Kruse arrived on scene with his K-9 "Nitro."
When Deputy Kruse began his track, Everett attempted to breach the perimeter.
Deputy Johnson deployed his Taser and Everett surrendered.
Apparently the four culprits had been observed walking in the area for most of the morning, checking out houses.
The complainant called 911 when he observed the three men walk behind and enter the enclosed privacy fence area of the victim's residence. The complainant advised that Turner was hiding in the bushes and appeared to be acting as a lookout and appeared to be on a cell phone.
The burglars were positively identified by the complainant.
Deputies were able to confirm that the burglars had broken into the victim's tool shed and had retrieved several tools, then used them to attempt entry into the residence.
Deputies did observe the burglars at the attempted point of entry prior to them fleeing the scene, the report said.
Sailes was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital and treated for the dog bite injuries he sustained.
All three men were charged with Burglary to an Unoccupied Structure, Burglary to an Unoccupied Dwelling and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
For some reason not listed in the report, detectives later decided not to charge Latisha Turner.
The three men remain in the Manatee County Jail on bail bonds of $10,850 each.

SARASOTA COUNTY, Florida [NMT] -- As Sarasota citizens are already aware, there have been a series of violent attacks on women which have occurred in both Sarasota and Manatee Counties. A collaborative investigative effort has been underway between investigators of the Sarasota County Sheriffs Office, Manatee County Sheriffs Office, Sarasota Police Department, and Bradenton Police Department.
As a result of the Task Forces investigative efforts, evidence, including DNA has been developed. Based on that evidence we are confident in stating that a number of the cases are related. DNA evidence has been submitted for further analysis and the Sheriffs Office will apprise the public of any further details revealed by that analysis at the prudent time.
A recently released composite of a suspect in one of the cases being reviewed has been widely circulated in the media. That depiction is of a possible suspect in one particular case (in Manatee County). This case may or may not be related to the others. It is not one of those linked by the evidence previously mentioned.
For the integrity of this vital collaborative effort, more specific details will not be revealed at this time. We urge the public to continue their vigilance in regards to their own personal safety as well as reporting any suspicious persons or activities to their local law enforcement agency, Crime Stoppers, or if a situation is in progress, by calling 911.

Large Truck Fatal Crashes
Lowest in 10 Years; Below
National Average
TALLAHASSEE, Florida [NMT] -- On Tuesday, April 28, 2009, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Secretary Stephanie Kopelousos announced that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the National Highway Safety Administrations Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) indicates that the number of fatal crashes in Florida involving large trucks, greater than 10,000 lbs., is the lowest since 1997. This is the first time in recent history the fatal crash rate for Florida is below the national average.
Reducing the number of crashes involving large commercial trucks and buses is our top priority, said Rose A. McMurray, Acting Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). We are encouraged by the significant reduction in truck-related fatalities in Florida and applaud the FDOT for their tireless efforts to ensure the safety of our nations highways. It is vitally important that federal and state governments continue to work closely with the motor carrier industry to improve truck and bus safety and save lives.
FDOTs Office of Motor Carrier Compliance (OMCC) credits the substantial reduction in large truck crashes to the four Es of Traffic Safety Education, Engineering, Enforcement and Everyone else, including the drivers of these big rigs and other motorists.
To help educate the public about trucking safety, FDOT, the U.S. DOT and Florida Trucking Association (FTA) partner with the No-Zone Safety Campaign. This program allows motorists to sit behind the wheel of a big rig and see what the truck driver is able to see and, more importantly, what the driver cant see. This program is offered in high school driver education programs across the state and at local community events. Law enforcement officers of FDOT and members of the FTAs Road Team reach out to thousands of motorists every year with this demonstration.

At least three firefighters were exposed to the smoke, and two suffered first-degree flash burns. The firefighters were transported to a local hospital.
Most of the other firefighters were able to work from outside, and were okay.
Plant workers in close proximity to the fumes were evacuated with no injuries reported to civilians, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
The sprinker system contained the fire, Fox 13 reported.
Hazmat crews were on scene and investigated the incident.
Police: Teen Shot Officer
In Foot During Gun Fight
OCOEE, Florida [NMT/WKMG] -- Orlando television station WKMG reported a teenager was arrested on attempted murder charges early Friday morning after he shot an Ocoee police officer during a gun fight, police said.
Corey Bales, 17, was arrested after the shooting, which occurred at about 1 a.m. at the Oak Forest Apartments on Old Winter Garden Road.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was shot in the foot and taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
According to Ocoee police, the officer was at the complex on an unrelated call when he heard gunshots and began an investigation.
"The officer saw the suspect, gave chase, there was a brief gun battle at the apartment complex behind me," Florida Department of Law Enforcement Sgt. Jack Massey said.
Bales was not shot, but he was cut by some glass while running through the sliding-glass door of a man's apartment, Ocoee police said. He was also taken to a hospital.
Ocoee police said it's not known why Bales was initially shooting a gun at the apartment complex, WKMG said.
Illegal Alien Hostage Takers
Sentenced in Manatee Case
TAMPA, Florida [NMT] -- Last week, United States District Judge Susan C. Bucklew sentenced Luis Francisco Pineda-Hidalgo, a/k/a Sergio Ferlandi-Calderon (a 20-year-old alien born in Mexico and now claiming Guatemalan citizenship), to 10 years in federal prison for conspiring to transport more than 25 illegal aliens, transporting 17 illegal aliens, smuggling two illegal aliens into the United States, hostage taking, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and illegal entry into the United States. Judge Bucklew also sentenced a co-conspirator, Yoni Hidalgo-Calderon (a 22-year-old alien born in Mexico and illegally present in the United States) to 6 years and 6 months in federal prison for assisting in the hostage taking.
According to court records, on the evening of September 4, 2008, Manatee County Sheriffs deputies thwarted a hostage - taking event and took Pineda-Hidalgo and Hidalgo-Calderon into custody. Deputies determined that Pineda-Hidalgo and Hidalgo-Calderon were transporting illegal aliens and were holding one of the aliens hostage until his transportation fees were paid by his brother. United States Border Patrol agents responded to render assistance and determined that Pineda-Hidalgo, Hidalgo-Calderon, and the five aliens being transported (including the hostage) were illegally present in the United States without admission or parole. All were taken into administrative custody for processing and transported to the Border Patrol station in Tampa, Florida.
Once at the Border Patrol station, the five passenger aliens were interviewed separately and each stated that he was a Mexican citizen illegally in the U.S. and was being transported from either Arizona, Georgia, or South Carolina, to Florida and Arizona by Pineda-Hidalgo and Hidalgo-Calderon.
According to the hostage alien, he had agreed to pay the defendants smuggling organization a fee in installments after he was delivered to his brother in Florida. However, when the hostage actually was delivered to his brother, Pineda-Hidalgo and Hidalgo-Calderon demanded the entire $1,350 transportation fee and threatened the life of the hostage if the fee was not paid immediately. Pineda-Hidalgo and Hidalgo-Calderon then drove away with the hostage and their other passengers. The hostages brother reported the incident to the Manatee County Sheriffs Office. Thanks to a quick-thinking, Spanishspeaking Manatee County Sheriffs deputy, the defendants were cajoled into returning to meet with the hostages brother, who told them he had come up with the money. The defendants were then taken into custody.
This case was investigated by the United States Border Patrol, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Donald L. Hansen.
